Operation, Functions, Operating System
The two models from AVM are almost identical equipped, even though the construction is different. This is also clearly noticeable in the functions and operation. Both devices are characterized by a maximum combined WLAN bandwidth of up to 2533 GHz. In addition, both analog and IP-based phones can be easily connected to the integrated ports. The home network functionality is completed by the USB 3.0 ports, which make it possible to integrate printers or hard drives quickly and easily into the network. Both models practically don't differ at all in this area. However, when it comes to the operating system, the situation is different. Here, AVM recently decided to update the Fritzbox 7580 one last time to FritzOS 7.25. Software support for the model ends with this update. The Fritzbox 7590, on the other hand, continues to receive updates and is therefore significantly more future-proof as a purchase.
Connections and Power Consumption
In terms of connections, the models don't differ at all. The range of ports is exactly the same. Both devices have sufficient connections for home use and support analog and digital telephony. However, an essential difference is that the Fritzbox 7590 supports supervectoring. This fact makes it absolutely future-proof.

Connections 7580

When it comes to power consumption, the Fritzbox 7580 vs. 7590 are almost tied. While the Fritzbox 7590 draws between 9 and 10 watts, the Fritzbox 7580 comes to a slightly higher value with 11 watts.
Transfer Rates and WLAN Range
When it comes to range and transfer rates, there's an absolute tie. With up to 2533 Mbits combined, both devices deliver top values. No significant differences could be identified in terms of range either.
Hardware (Processor)
The Fritzbox 7590 features a dual-core processor from Intel. The Lantiq AnyWAN GRX 550 has a clock frequency of 1 GHz. The chip supports all essential processes and is supplemented by 512 MB of RAM. Hardly surprising at this point is the fact that the Fritzbox 7580 uses exactly the same CPU.
Dimensions and Weight
The Fritzbox 7580 at 240 x 175 x 75 mm is only slightly deeper than the Fritzbox 7590 at 250 x 184 x 48 mm. However, this is essentially due to the design. While the Fritzbox 7580 is a relatively uniform cuboid, the Fritzbox 7590 with its design focused more on rounded forms is somewhat less bulky. In terms of weight, the 7580 weighs 715 g, which is almost 200 g more. However, whether a weight difference really makes a purchase-deciding difference for a router is debatable.
Price-Performance Ratio Fritzbox 7580 vs. 7590
Both devices cost over 200 EUR and thus belong to the higher price category. As has been mentioned several times, the devices are almost identical in construction. When it comes to price-performance ratio, the Fritzbox 7590 is still clearly at an advantage. This is essentially due to the future-proofing of the device. With supervectoring and ongoing software support, the 7590 clearly has the edge in this category.

Here too, there's little surprising. The devices are nearly identical and accordingly similar is the customer opinion. Both devices enjoy great popularity and are excellently rated on common portals. The Fritzbox 7590 seems to receive hardly any negative reviews and achieves a result of 4.8 stars with over 21,000 reviews already. The Fritzbox 7580 can't keep up with that, but still reaches a proud value of 4.5 stars with over 600 reviews.
Conclusion Fritzbox 7580 vs. 7590 Comparison
Undoubtedly, AVM offers absolute top routers with both devices. Surprisingly, the devices are almost identical and also came to market in very short succession. Two factors make the [url="https://www.amazon.de/dp/B01KKJFJ92?tag=produck-21",name="Fritzbox 7590",title=""] the winner of the direct comparison though. The future capability of the 7590 is significantly greater thanks to supervectoring. In addition, there's the recently discontinued software support for the 7580.
