In this test, I thoroughly examined the Tesvor S8 Max and put it to the test in my household regarding navigation, cleaning performance, and everyday usability.
Click & Clean at a Budget Price? – Tesvor S8 Max in Everyday Testing Between Budget and Comfort
Vacuum robots have become an integral part of my household. Two candidates are already running on different floors here: An OKP K3P, once purchased for around €100, and a Dreame D10 Plus, which represents the upper mid-range at €350. The new [url="https://amzn.to/4oFio0I",name="Tesvor S8 Max",title=""] positions itself exactly in between with its RRP of €299 – but can it actually offer premium features at an affordable price?

Transparency note: The Tesvor S8 Max was provided to me free of charge for this test. However, my experiences and assessments remain unaffected by this – as always, you'll get honest and practical feedback from everyday use here.
Package Contents and First Impression
The market for vacuum robots is highly competitive today, especially in the mid-price segment. This is where the Tesvor S8 Max enters, with the promise of offering strong performance, smart navigation, and additional functions like mopping and automatic suction station at a comparatively affordable price – usually under €300.

But does the device deliver what the product description promises? In my several-week everyday test, I intensively examined the robot – for performance, handling, app control, and support. However, the first contact already happens when unpacking.
Package Contents:
In the simple (outer) box are included:
- The charging and suction station
- The vacuum robot itself

In the delivery box you'll find:
- A. Suction station with power adapter
- B. Tesvor S8 Max Robot
- C. Operating manual
- D. Quick start guide
- E. Remote control
- F. Fine filter
- G. Cleaning tool
- H. 2 replacement side brushes (2 already installed)
- I. Replacement microfiber cloth (1 already installed)
- J. 4 replacement dust bags (1 already installed)
The design is sleek-modern with a slightly cream-colored white. The vacuum is built quite flat and fits under most furniture – a clear plus for me in everyday use. The suction station looks high-quality and is visually unobtrusive. Here you can tell that Tesvor didn't just focus on function with the S8 Max, but also valued a living-room-friendly appearance.
My first impression: The package contents are above average for this price class. Especially the spare parts and the practical remote control make getting started particularly easy. No long reordering necessary – nicely thought out!
Functions in Everyday Use & Practical Test
Initial Setup:
Setting up the Tesvor S8 Max begins with the Tesvor app. The technical setup is basically simple, but you quickly stumble over clunky translations and inconsistent menu navigation. The WiFi pairing only works in the 2.4 GHz band and took me three attempts until the connection was established. Nothing works here without a Tesvor account.

My impression: Manual and app are AI-translated and apparently never seen by a native speaker. The formulations are sometimes amusing, sometimes annoying when operation becomes a guessing game. Even in English, many terms are not clearer. Anyone with little tech affinity needs patience here or, if necessary, a translator.
Using the App in Everyday Life:
After successful setup, the first cleaning run starts immediately. The S8 Max maps the apartment autonomously and divides the rooms independently. In the map editor, rooms can be merged, divided, or renamed as desired. The app also offers the usual features like scheduled cleaning, area restriction and various cleaning modes (vacuum only, mop only, both combined).
The menu structure is initially nested and the sometimes cryptic designations cause frowning. With some getting used to and a few clicks, however, you find your way around and can use the full range of functions.

Integration with Alexa:
Anyone who wants to control the S8 Max via voice command has to take a small detour. In the app itself there is no direct Alexa option, and Alexa doesn't find Tesvor as a manufacturer either. Only a look at the English manual reveals: You have to activate the "Smart Joy Skill" and log in with your Tesvor data. After that, the integration works – but a bit more transparency in the German manual would be desirable.
Cleaning Performance:
With maximum 6000 Pa suction power, the Tesvor S8 Max delivers decent cleaning performance on hard floors. However, wet cleaning is limited to the microfiber cloth being pulled across the floor – there's no scrubbing function or vibration. Dried-on stains therefore usually remain.
Navigation always follows the same paths, which ensures systematic cleaning. However, hard-to-reach spots – for example under chair legs – are identically omitted on every pass. Here I would have wished for a more varied route plan or the ability to optimize the driving route, as known from some vacuum robots and robotic mowers.
Carpet Recognition:
Carpet recognition is mixed: On my doormat, the robot consistently refused to vacuum as long as the water tank was inserted. Only after its removal was the mat cleaned. According to the manual, this should be so, but I would have wished for more flexibility and better communication in the app.
The Hardware:
With a diameter of 33 cm and a height of 9.8 cm, the S8 Max is pleasantly compact. It weaves easily between chair legs and drives under many pieces of furniture. However, it didn't fit under my sofa – no vacuum robot with a laser tower that I know of manages that.

Obstacles and steps are a minor weakness: The robot failed at my 2.4 cm high step to the kitchen. According to the manufacturer (Update 10.08.2025), 2 cm is specified – so that fits. With a small ramp, the problem was solved.

The volume is 68 dB according to the data sheet, in my test it was up to 83 dB at maximum power. Still acceptable for me, but possibly borderline for sensitive ears.

My conclusion from everyday use: The Tesvor S8 Max scores with solid cleaning performance, modern navigation, and practical app features. However, the translations and menu navigation of the app are clearly the biggest weaknesses. Anyone who doesn't mind this gets a lot of function for the money.
Price and Availability of Spare Parts and Consumables
The vacuum-mop robot from Tesvor is currently available for just €249.99 (incl. Coupon). Considering its features, this is a real bargain, suggesting an overall good price-performance ratio.
[asin="B0DNJZGZMV",type="standard"]A crucial point with any vacuum-mopping robot is the availability of spare parts and consumables. Here the Tesvor S8 Max currently shows a clear weakness: Neither on Amazon nor directly on the manufacturer's homepage are spare parts or wear parts currently regularly available. According to Tesvor, this should change "shortly" (presumably September) – however, a concrete date remains open.
For users, this means: Anyone who vacuums and mops a lot currently has to improvise or be patient when, for example, new dust bags, side brushes, or filters are needed.
I put this to the test and contacted the manufacturer several times. After some back and forth, I finally received an individual spare parts package directly from China:
- 10 dust bags
- 1 pair of edge brushes
- 1 roller brush
- 3 HEPA filters
- 2 mops
Cost: €50 including shipping. The waiting time was just under two weeks – still acceptable for me, but quite long for everyday consumables.
My conclusion: Anyone planning to use the Tesvor S8 Max longer and intensively should secure spare parts in time as soon as they become regularly available. The current situation is a knockout criterion for many and significantly tarnishes the otherwise solid price-performance of the robot.
Final Conclusion on the Tesvor S8 Max in Test
The Tesvor S8 Max presents itself in the test as a powerful and smart vacuum-mopping robot that can convince in everyday use with strong suction power, reliable navigation (LiDAR), automatic emptying, and a basically well-equipped app. At its core, the robot delivers everything you could wish for in 2024 in the mid-price segment – and usually well under €300.
However, there are currently a few stumbling blocks that cloud everyday use: The translations in app and manual are often incorrect or misleading, which can lead to frustration especially during setup and with special functions. Tesvor urgently needs to improve here.
The actual knockout criterion, however, is the inadequate supply of spare parts and consumables. As long as dust bags, filters, or brushes cannot be reliably and easily reordered, the S8 Max is only conditionally suitable for everyday use. Only when Tesvor catches up here can I recommend the robot without reservation.
- Very affordable price
- High suction power (up to 6000 Pa)
- Reliable LiDAR navigation
- Automatic suction station
- Good mopping function for everyday dirt
- Insufficient spare parts supply
- Slow and cumbersome accessory delivery
- Many translation errors in app and manual
- No comprehensive documentation
Overall rating: 4.0 out of 5 stars (if the spare parts problem is solved), currently only 1 star due to the spare parts situation.
My tip: For price-conscious users who can live with minor software and documentation defects and stock up on spare materials early, the Tesvor S8 Max remains a real insider tip in the budget segment.
