Still, not everything that glitters is gold. There are a few characteristics of the device you should know before buying it. I clarify what those are in the following review.
Over the past few years, COSORI has established itself as a modern brand for hot air fryers and smart kitchen appliances. The company places strong emphasis on accessible design, high everyday usability, and close integration with app functions. Particularly popular on the market are models with a large cooking chamber, clear controls, and solid workmanship. From my point of view, the brand has mainly made a name for itself because it not only promises technical features, but often implements them in a meaningful way in everyday use. The ICONIC continues this approach – with eye-catching looks, digital connectivity, and a clear focus on convenience.
Unboxing, scope of delivery and first impression
The device arrived well protected in a stylish box. Then we got straight to the unboxing. The ICONIC is well protected, consists of pleasantly few individual parts, and causes no trouble at all during setup. That’s exactly how it should be with a kitchen appliance that you don’t want to study first, but use as quickly as possible.
The package includes the instruction manual, a quick guide, and an elegantly designed cookbook, all neatly stored in a smaller folder. Right from the start, it feels tidy and well thought out. Accordingly, the device can be put into operation quickly and easily, without first having to fight through loose papers or unnecessary accessories.
My first impression was very positive overall: high-quality stainless steel look, large display, cleanly labeled controls. The handle is made of plastic, but was combined with glossy and brushed stainless steel surfaces and fits visually well into the overall design. Finally, a device that doesn’t ruin the look of a somewhat more upscale kitchen with a loveless PVC block. In our case, the ICONIC also fits quite well next to the Thermomix. So I was satisfied on first contact.
Of course, stainless steel doesn’t just have visual advantages. From my perspective, its everyday practicality is the main point in its favor: the material is generally easy to clean, less sensitive to many cleaning agents, appears more durable over the long term, and retains its color far more reliably than many painted plastic surfaces. In addition, stainless steel usually ages more attractively, absorbs fewer odors, and still looks decent after prolonged use with regular care. You just need to be a little careful with scratches on brushed surfaces, because depending on the light, they can definitely be visible.
Fingerprints are visible on the surface, but in the test I found this far less problematic than I had initially expected. The reason is simple: during use, you don’t actually touch the device that often directly. As a result, the front usually remains more presentable in everyday use than you might assume with a stainless steel look.
With its dimensions of 29.5 x 30 x 41.7 cm, the device naturally requires a certain amount of space, but for this performance class it still integrates well. The weight of 6.5 kg also gives a pleasantly solid impression. As a result, the ICONIC does not seem shaky or cheap, but rather like a device that is allowed to stay permanently on the countertop.
I also find it practical that additional stickers for different languages are included, including German. The English terms are already integrated into the display. And honestly: to preserve the clean look, I would rather learn the labels than stick them on. Most of them are common in German anyway or quickly understood.
All in all, the COSORI ICONIC leaves an entirely grown-up impression right from the moment you unpack it. It is neatly packaged, quickly assembled, and visually much closer to a designer appliance than to the typical black standard hot air fryer. From my point of view, that is one of its biggest advantages right from the start.

Operation and handling
Operation is extremely user-friendly. On the one hand, many symbols on the display are self-explanatory; on the other hand, the control panel is easy to use even with wet hands. The elements are large enough to hit without problems, and the display remains easy to read even from a slightly greater distance. That sounds trivial, but it makes a real difference in everyday kitchen use. With a gentle signal tone, the COSORI reminds you when the food should be shaken or when the cooking process has finished. It is easy to hear, but not annoying.
The cooking basket can be removed from the device with one hand. In everyday use, this works pleasantly easily and contributes a lot to the good handling. There is also a safety button so that the cooking basket remains securely locked. Especially with hot food, I consider this important because it creates additional confidence in handling. The button is also quite helpful as a child safety feature.
The machine itself stands very securely on four rubber feet. At 6.5 kg, it is easy enough to carry if it is not meant to stay on the kitchen counter permanently. Although, to be fair, with this appealing design, in my opinion it can definitely stay out. It does not look like a device you want to quickly hide away in the cupboard after every use.
The rear air outlet is important for placement. The warm air is vented out the back, so you should leave the hot air fryer a few centimeters of clearance from the wall and wall cabinets. The manufacturer recommends about 13 cm of free space so the air can escape properly.
The app – far more than just a simple control extension
The VeSync app is available for operating the COSORI ICONIC. This is not a standalone app just for this one device, but a larger ecosystem that also integrates products from other brands, such as Levoit air purifiers. That alone makes the solution quite interesting in everyday life if you use several smart household appliances.
The app’s functions are varied. At the core is, of course, remote control: you can view the current process, send settings to the fryer, or interrupt the cooking process. Shake reminders during cooking are also integrated. In everyday use, this works reliably and goes far beyond what I have experienced with many cheaper air fryers as a token app.
It becomes especially interesting because of the many additional functions, which almost form a small cooking ecosystem. There are predefined recipes ranging from starters to complete main courses and desserts, including step-by-step instructions. This is really well done. As a result, the use of the fryer goes far beyond simply frying or reheating individual foods. It is also helpful that ingredients from recipes can be added to a shopping list with one click. It is not a huge feature, but in everyday life it is surprisingly useful and a real added value. Details like these show that the app is not just meant as a nice gimmick, but as a practical extension around cooking.
There is also a small incentive system, i.e. rewards for certain tasks. That is more of a nice gimmick than a key buying argument. Overall, though, the COSORI ICONIC app appears to me not just as a decorative extra, but as a powerful cooking app that integrates the hot air fryer meaningfully and practically into everyday life.
Noise level
While working, the device is clearly audible. It produces around 54 dB, resulting in a steady operating noise that I would best describe as a light rushing sound. In the kitchen and while working, I did not find this disturbing. The noise level is quite comparable to other air fryers I have tested so far. Accordingly, for me it is not a decisive buying criterion – neither positively nor negatively.
Frying, baking, drying, reheating… now it gets serious!
The COSORI ICONIC offers a clear selection of functions. I like that, because this is not a case of simply cramming as much as possible onto the display, but rather providing a sensible, logically structured selection.

There are indeed devices on the market that promise even more functions. In the end, though, the layout here is sensible, logical, and above all simple. With around 1,700 watts of power, the ICONIC reaches temperatures from 30 to 230 degrees Celsius, covering a broad spectrum of preparation methods. That is exactly what makes it so interesting in everyday use: it does not just want to make fries crispy, but actually take on several tasks in the kitchen.
I also find the included cookbook outstanding. Such add-ons are often more decorative than useful, but here it actually delivers some good cooking ideas and motivates you to try more than the usual standard dishes.
We have now had the machine on test for two weeks. During that time, among other things, we prepared potato wedges, chicken drumsticks, grilled vegetables, small cakes, and steaks in the fryer. It was also regularly used for reheating food. That in particular quickly shows whether an air fryer only makes a good first impression or also convinces in everyday use.
In the first test, we prepared homemade potato wedges for two adults and two kiddies. The cooking chamber with its 6.2-liter capacity was just sufficient for that. The challenge was to get this amount of potato wedges crispy without any additional ingredients. So there was definitely some suspense. Overall, we were very satisfied with the result: the potatoes developed good browning, were crispy after 20 minutes at 200 degrees, and retained their natural flavor. The performance is therefore absolutely sufficient to prepare such quantities properly. If you want to get just a little more out of them, it is best to toss the potatoes briefly in a little oil with salt beforehand.
Chicken drumsticks are among the classics in the air fryer for me. Here too, we tried the XL variant and filled the cooking basket to the maximum. The chicken was simply seasoned with a little oil and salt. The result was very good. After 22 minutes, we had crispy skin, the meat was thoroughly cooked inside, and it was not dry. That is exactly how it should be: delicious food without much effort.
Another particularly nice test was my wife’s apple quark cake. It looks rather plain on the outside, but is normally absolutely delicious and, above all, not dry inside – at least that had previously been the case when prepared in the oven. Can the COSORI do that too? Yes, it managed it. The outer layer was nicely crisp, while the inside remained soft and juicy. Only the surface became a little too dark. With a slightly shorter baking time, the result would have been nearly perfect in my view.
The cooking basket
The cooking basket is coated and PFAS-free. PFAS are a group of persistent industrial chemicals that were used, among other things, because of their water-, grease-, and dirt-repellent properties. In recent years, however, they have increasingly come under criticism because they break down only very slowly in the environment and are also discussed in terms of health. From my point of view, the fact that COSORI relies on a PFAS-free solution here is therefore a sensible and contemporary step.
In itself, the basket is well made: fat can drain off cleanly, and the coating noticeably makes cleaning easier. However, the opening in the middle is a bit too large. As a result, smaller foods can fall through and end up at the bottom of the basket. That is then somewhat inconvenient, especially when you have to fish the pieces back out while hot. It is no drama, but still a minor weakness in the details.

That way, the coating is not damaged, and handling hot food is much more relaxed.

Cleaning
Cleaning is essentially quick and trouble-free. The insert and cooking basket can go into the dishwasher, which is naturally practical in everyday use. I still usually clean at least the basket by hand, because in the long run that seems gentler on the coating and the material. Especially with devices that are used regularly, my experience is that this works out better.
Thanks to the coating, grease, residue, and stuck-on remains generally come off easily. As long as nothing is badly burnt on, warm water with a little dish soap and a soft sponge is often enough. That makes maintenance pleasantly uncomplicated and fits well with the overall everyday-friendly impression of the COSORI ICONIC.
As already mentioned above, stainless steel is somewhat more susceptible to grease marks and fingerprints, which cannot always be completely removed with a single wipe. A suitable stainless steel cleaner helps here if needed. If such marks bother you more, you may want to choose a model with a plastic housing instead, such as the Turbo Blaze. It may look less premium, but in everyday use it usually has less sensitive surfaces.
The display itself can be cleaned easily with a microfiber cloth. That works quickly and without much effort. From my point of view, it is only important not to use aggressive cleaners or abrasive sponges, so that the surface and labeling remain clean in the long term.
All in all, cleaning is not a problem area for this hot air fryer. On the contrary: for me, the ICONIC is one of those devices that can be returned to a tidy condition after cooking without much resistance. That sounds like a small thing, but in everyday life it plays a bigger role than you often think before buying.
Care tip from everyday use: If you soak the basket briefly in warm water right after it has cooled down, you prevent residue from setting. For the stainless steel front, a slightly damp microfiber cloth is often enough to make the surface look presentable again.
Price
At around 250 euros, the price is certainly set high, fitting the luxurious-looking design. So here you are paying not just for the pure function, but also to some extent for a device that visually enhances the kitchen rather than standing inconspicuously in the corner. In my view, that is also part of the COSORI ICONIC’s concept: it does not just want to be practical, but consciously stages itself as a high-quality kitchen helper.
Whether this price will last in the long term remains to be seen, of course. Promotions such as Prime Day or other seasonal discounts could still bring some movement here. The lowest price I have observed so far was 222 euros on Amazon. So if you are considering buying it, it is worth keeping an eye on the price.

Power consumption is in the mid-range compared with other devices in this class. However, different tests come to somewhat different conclusions here. While CHIP, for example, speaks of rather low power consumption, the assessment from IMTEST tends to be higher. That shows quite well that such values always also depend on the test setup and the specific usage behavior.
In the end, what matters most is how you use the machine in everyday life. Frequent reheating, long cooking times, or particularly temperature-intensive applications naturally drive electricity consumption upward. On the other hand, if you use the COSORI ICONIC specifically for typical air-fryer tasks and replace the oven more often, you may even shift household energy use in a sensible way. In my view, the power consumption of this model should therefore neither be overdramatized nor completely ignored – it is there, but remains within a comprehensible range.
Conclusion
In the test, the COSORI ICONIC impressed above all where many air fryers later fail in everyday use: in the combination of strong performance, simple operation, meaningful app integration, and a truly successful design. The baking and frying results were consistently very good. Potato wedges became crispy, chicken drumsticks crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside, and even the apple quark cake was successful with only minor compromises. Added to that are the large, easy-to-read display, everyday-friendly operation even with damp hands, and an overall high-quality first impression. I found it especially positive that the VeSync app is not just an extra, but actually extends the device in a meaningful way.
The ICONIC is especially suitable for anyone who regularly cooks with a hot air fryer, values appearance, and is looking for a device that feels noticeably more premium than many standard models. It is also a very interesting choice for households that appreciate smart functions and recipe integration. It is less suitable for people who mainly want the cheapest possible functional device or are bothered by more delicate stainless steel surfaces. And anyone who wants every detail to be maximally practical rather than design-oriented may under certain circumstances be happier with simple plastic models.
