We put the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home to the test in various areas of use. In the review, the new Kärcher pressure washer shows that it delivers strong performance. The only question is who the extra cost over the K5 Comfort is really worth it for.

The new Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium – Tidy and Well Thought Out

At first glance, the new Kärcher K7 Comfort clearly stands out from its predecessor. It looks tidier, almost “clean,” and therefore both stylish and modern at the same time. Some people might not even notice right away that this is a pressure washer, but under the hood the K7 Comfort has everything a premium pressure washer needs to take care of dirt on any terrain.

The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium – New look, strong performance

For us, the key questions were how thoroughly it cleans in different areas, how comfortable the device is to use, and of course what advantages the App Connect function brings in practical use. To find out, we used the Kärcher K7 in different areas and tested it extensively. One thing upfront: the patio, facade, car, and even the fountain are now shining again at their very best. On the other hand, you do have to pay quite a bit for this premium device. We’ll explain below who the expense is really worth it for.

K7 Comfort – What’s new about it?

The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium was released in spring 2026 and marks the revised premium line in the upper segment of Kärcher pressure washers. The focus is on a modernized design, overall more comfortable handling, and the integration of the App Connect function, which is intended to help users choose and use the right cleaning settings. In my view, the model is clearly aimed at users who regularly clean larger areas, vehicles, or more delicate surfaces and who value performance, comfort, and a system of accessories. Technically, the K7 targets the upper performance class and is designed for demanding cleaning tasks around the house and garden. We have listed the new features in detail at the end of the article.

[tableofcontent]

Summary of the most important results

All in all, the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium proved in the test to be a powerful, well thought out, and overall very versatile pressure washer. It shows its strengths especially clearly on washed concrete patios, facades, and green deposits, while for cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and caravans the right accessories (especially the brush) make a noticeable difference.

Overview of the individual chapters

First impression and scope of delivery: Right out of the box, the K7 makes a high-quality and well thought out impression. The accessories are clearly arranged, sensibly organized, and thanks to the new Comfort concept can be assembled quickly without tools.

Pressure cleaning in the test: In practice, the device impressed above all on heavily soiled stone surfaces, on the facade, and at the fountain with very good results. For vehicle washing, the performance is quite sufficient for light to medium dirt; for stubborn residue, extra accessories help. If you can get the Car Set at a good price, you’re on the safe side.

Handling and mobility: At just under 19 kg, the K7 is no lightweight, but thanks to its large wheels, telescopic handle, and carrying handle it can still be moved quite well. Minor weaknesses showed up when rolling sideways over thresholds, where the device can tip slightly, and in the somewhat stiff hose reel in some cases.

Features and accessories: The accessory system is one of the K7’s big strengths. Kärcher offers suitable extensions for almost every area of use, allowing the device to be tailored specifically to your own needs. It is also available in many versions, from a basic variant to a complete set. It is commendable that Kärcher also does not neglect sustainability and in some cases uses recycled materials.

App Connect: The app is not a must, but especially for beginners it is a useful addition. It provides cleaning tips, assistance, and service functions without forcing the user to register.

Water and power consumption: The K7 is clearly designed for performance rather than economy. Water consumption and power draw are correspondingly higher, but this is partly offset by its fast working speed, which allows large areas to be cleaned in a manageable amount of time. With the optional eco!Booster 180 nozzle, water consumption can also be reduced further while maintaining high performance.

Noise level: Acoustically, the device is within the usual range for its class. Especially with the dirt blaster, it can get loud at times, which is fine in residential areas but requires consideration for quiet hours and a bit of sensitivity toward the neighbors.

Value for money: The K7 Comfort Premium is not a bargain, but for regular and versatile use it offers a coherent overall package. The Home + Car Set currently looks especially attractive, while the K5 often remains the more sensible choice for occasional users around the home. For me, the K7 is well suited to large gardens, lots of stone surfaces, older installations, and possibly as a family device to “share.” Therefore my conclusion is: Would I buy it again – YES!

First impression and scope of delivery

Anyone who has to carry the K7 in its box for the first time quickly notices: there is a lot of technology inside, because the box weighs around 28 kg and really makes you sweat. In our test, we had the Premium Connect with Home Kit available. The device was well packed and everything arrived safely. The accessories are clearly laid out, which is due to the new Comfort Line concept: quick setup without tools, everything can simply be clicked into place by hand.

In addition to the Kärcher K7, the K4, K5, and K6 models are also available in the new Comfort Line, some with and some without a connected high-pressure gun.

Instead of different lances, there is a 4-in-1 multi spray lance that combines various functions of previous models in one lance. In everyday use, this is actually convenient because you have fewer individual parts lying around, are ready to start more quickly, and need to switch less often. Everything can be stored neatly on the device. That means the gun handle, spray lance, and extension are simply clicked into place or stored at the front. The detergent can be attached at the side and is automatically mixed in from there. At the back, the 10-meter hose sits on a reel with a turning handle for winding it up. The five-meter power cable is neatly wound up on the side. The connections are positioned to match the cable orientation for greater freedom of movement (Easy!Motion concept). Kärcher has really put thought into this, and overall we find it absolutely successful.

Externally, the device looks very high-quality and robust. Especially when unpacking it for the first time, you get the impression that you are dealing with a genuine top-class model. Only the mesh on the back, which was still present on the old K7 and proved practical for smaller utensils, was something we missed a little in everyday use.

In addition to the Kärcher standard equipment, the Home Kit also includes the T7 surface cleaner. Especially for larger patio or courtyard areas, this is a useful extra because cleaning is more even, cleaner, and more comfortable with it than with the surface spray alone.

In summary, you get the following in the scope of delivery:

  • G 180 Q Comfort Connect high-pressure gun (or without Connected G 180 Q COMFORT!Hold gun)

  • 4-in-1 multi spray lance

  • Extension lance

  • 10-meter high-pressure hose

  • Universal cleaner

  • Operating instructions

The Home Kit also includes:

  • T7 surface cleaner

  • Facade cleaner

As another alternative, the Car Kit also offers additional accessories for gentler and more targeted vehicle cleaning. Depending on the set, this typically includes suitable attachments or cleaning aids that make the K7 even more versatile. For our test with the Home Kit, however, the T7 was the decisive addition above all.

My impression after unpacking: the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium not only looks modern, but above all very suitable for everyday use and ready to deliver for the next few years in modern-day "Home & Garden." The new organization on the device, the reduced accessory concept, and the tidy hose and cable storage make it immediately clear that the focus here is not only on performance but, true to the name, also very strongly on comfort.

Pressure cleaning in the test

To put the K7 through its paces, we tested the device in several areas of application. This is crucial because a pressure washer in this class needs to work as versatilely as possible. Typical applications include cleaning tasks around the house (e.g. facade, gutter), yard, patio, pools, cars, caravans, motorcycles, bicycles, garden furniture, and other larger areas.

The first step was to make a roughly 50-year-old washed concrete floor shine again. Among other things, moss had settled on the surface, grass and weeds adorned the joints, and dirt made some slabs look very dark. Here, the Kärcher K7 Comfort proved to be a real cleaning champ. This was especially true when using the dirt blaster. The power at the highest setting is enormous and gives neither dirt nor plants any chance. We were then also able to try the dirt blaster on concrete edging stones and found the result sensational. Cleaning the entire 75 m² patio area plus paths and edging stones took about 2 hours, which means it went quickly at roughly 1:36 minutes per m².

The edging stones could also be freed of green deposits without any problems. Afterwards, the device itself was gently sprayed off and was clean again.

When using it, you should note that the dirt can fly quite far and individual stones may come loose. I therefore recommend wearing safety goggles. The surroundings, such as house facades, should also either be protected or later sprayed down as well. Especially during intensive floor cleaning at the highest setting, the loosened dirt spreads faster than you might like.

The latter was also the second application area in our test: we cleaned the facade and the roller shutters with the wide flat jet, which flushed out not only coarse dirt but also a lot of dust from the grooves of our roughcast plaster. The plaster remained undamaged. The spray lance can be aligned vertically or horizontally depending on the orientation of the surface, making it easy to work sideways along the wall. All in all, facade cleaning was very easy and above all pleasantly controllable. Unfortunately, there is no locking function on the handle – probably for safety reasons. During longer use, this is quite noticeable because you constantly have to keep the trigger pressed. It’s not a serious flaw, but it is something I noticed in everyday use. According to the manufacturer, the COMFORT!Hold function of the G 180 Q without display is supposed to save more effort – unfortunately I have not yet been able to test it.

After that, the old "Trevi" fountain in the garden was next. By now, quite a lot of green deposits, meaning microorganisms and algae, had also settled there. A few days earlier, I had already rinsed it off with the mobile Kärcher OC3 and had achieved some success with that, but it was no comparison to the up to 180 bar of the K7. Accordingly, it was very satisfying to see how the Kärcher removed the remaining green deposit with the narrow flat jet. After this "whitening," the fountain looked significantly fresher again. An excellent performance.

The K7 also removes green deposits from the fountain convincingly

Finally, the car was freed of everyday dirt. Light soiling such as mud splashes was no problem for the Kärcher. With more stubborn dirt, especially insect residue on the hood, even the powerful flat jet did little at first. The key here was to apply some foam beforehand and then let it soak in. The K7 automatically draws and mixes the cleaning agent from the detergent bottle and distributes it evenly over the car. Alternatively, the bottle can also be attached directly to the hand gun, allowing better control of the dosage. However, hanging it on the side is more comfortable. The universal cleaner used noticeably improved the cleaning effect, even if not 100 percent of the dirt could be removed.

With detergent, the effect on vehicles increases noticeably

So my recommendation is this: anyone who wants to use the Kärcher more often for car washing should get the Car Kit with the appropriate brushes. Otherwise, light to medium dirt can be removed well, but for stubborn stains the power alone is not always enough. Incidentally, I would advise against using the dirt blaster on the car. As the name suggests, it is intended for intensive floor cleaning and is too aggressive for car paint. You should also keep a distance of 15–30 cm when spraying.

The T7 surface cleaner in the test

After all the spray lances had been tested, the T7 surface cleaner was then used on a concrete floor. Here too, the paving stones had become noticeably discolored over the years. The surface cleaner has two functions that can be switched using a foot switch: a front nozzle for edge areas and joints as well as two rotating nozzles for spraying larger areas. The height of these nozzles can be adjusted via a rotary knob. In addition, brushes in the edge area are used to scrub away extra dirt. The pressure creates a kind of hover effect that allows the T7 to glide well over smooth surfaces, making cleaning easy.

Much lighter and free of weeds in the joints – the central area that we cleaned with the surface cleaner.

For me, the advantages compared to the dirt blaster are obvious. First, the T7 cleans a larger area at once, which saves time. Kärcher speaks of up to 50 percent less time required. Second, because the dirt is worked on under the hood, it does not splash away uncontrollably, making the overall process cleaner. With the height adjustment, you can also work more gently on wooden floors, for example, than with an open spray. The front nozzle, in turn, is very practical for cleaning edge areas such as along facades. Overall, the surface cleaner can also be used well on walls or gates. And finally, thanks to its closed design, it is significantly quieter in use.

My conclusion from this section of the test: the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium shows its strengths especially where high cleaning performance and flexible use are required. It works very convincingly especially on stone, facades, and green deposits. It also works well on the car, but with the right accessories it is much more thorough on stubborn dirt.

Handling and mobility

The powerful water-cooled motor naturally also means the pressure washer has considerable weight. At just under 19 kg, the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium is not one of those models you can casually tuck under your arm. Thanks to the large wheels and the adjustable telescopic handle, however, the device can still be pulled well in everyday use. In the test, this worked well on solid paths and level grassy areas, among other things. However, you should be careful: when going over thresholds or smaller edges, the K7 tends a little to tip sideways because of its weight. It’s not dramatic, but we definitely noticed it in everyday use.

Large wheels and telescopic handle make everyday pulling easier

A little caution is needed on edges and thresholds

The front carrying handle is well suited for occasional carrying. But as already mentioned, the K7 is not a device I would want to lug around over long distances. Anyone regularly looking for a more compact and mobile model is much better served by smaller devices such as the Kärcher K4 at around 12 kg. The K7 clearly feels like a pressure washer that prioritizes performance over compactness.

On the positive side is its stability. The device stands very securely overall, even if you pull a little harder on the hose. This is pleasant, especially on larger areas or when working around the car, because you don’t constantly have to reposition the washer.

Winding up the hose, on the other hand, requires a bit of strength and occasionally catches. From my point of view, the reel could be a little sturdier here. The plastic twisted a bit now and then during the test. In the truest sense, you first have to get the hang of it, then it becomes much easier to handle. So it’s a bit of a matter of practice. If you guide the hose neatly and avoid kinks, the whole process works noticeably better.

Power cable winding, on the other hand, is kept simple. To unwind it, you simply turn the holder and the 5-meter cable can be taken down neatly. It’s not a spectacular solution, but one that works pleasantly straightforwardly in everyday use.

The new design’s practical focus is evident in the cable and hose setup

Tip for on the go: As a supplement, I use the Kärcher OC3. This is a mobile low-pressure cleaner with an integrated water tank and battery, intended primarily for smaller cleaning tasks away from the house. In my experience, the device is ideal when no direct water connection is available, for example after cycling, while camping, after walking the dog, or for quickly rinsing off dirty shoes. Of course, the OC3 does not replace a full-fledged pressure washer like the K7, because its pressure and range are much lower. Its advantage lies more in its flexibility: it is quickly ready for use, easy to transport, and is gentler on more delicate items thanks to the softer water jet. For on the go or as a small supplement to the big K7, I find this concept very practical. So if you don’t always need maximum performance but sometimes just want simple mobile cleaning, the OC3 is a sensible secondary solution.

Features and accessories

As already mentioned above, the K7 is available in different versions. Depending on the set and intended use, the scope of delivery varies slightly. This means you can choose the package that suits your needs instead of buying accessories that just end up sitting on the shelf.

What is especially impressive is the amount of accessories and extensions available for the device. The [url="https://asset.re-in.de/add/160267/c1/-/de/003594832DS00/DA_Kaercher-Home-Garden-K-7-Comfort-Premium-Connect-Home-Hochdruckreiniger-180-bar-Kaltwasser.pdf",name="Datenblatt des Kärcher K7 Comfort",title="Dieses Dokument zeigt technische Daten und Zubehör zum Kärcher K7 Comfort"] lists a full 78 accessories. Even if a large part of these are cleaning agents, it quickly becomes clear how broadly Kärcher has now set up the system. From the garden to patio and facade to car, motorcycle, or bicycle, there is something here for numerous applications.

This is accordingly one strength of Kärcher pressure washers: the K series does not just offer individual pressure washers, but is part of a well thought out accessory system. If you later want to get more out of the device, you can specifically expand its functionality with suitable attachments rather than having to take major detours.

A sensible addition in my view is the WB 7 Plus 3-in-1 combination wash brush, which can be used on window fronts, cars, motorcycles, or bicycles. Especially on more delicate surfaces, a brush like this is often more helpful in everyday use than pure water pressure. It combines mechanical support with water supply and thus makes cleaning easier.

Anyone who uses the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium regularly should not view the accessories as a side issue. Only with the right attachments, brushes, and cleaning agents can the full potential of the K7 be unleashed.

App Connect

The Kärcher Home & Garden app has an surprisingly good rating of around 4.5 stars. I actually noticed that positively in advance, because many manufacturer apps tend to perform rather inconsistently in practice. Also pleasant: you do not necessarily have to register, but can also use the app as a guest. That significantly lowers the barrier to entry.

Content-wise, there is quite a lot in the app. It offers detailed cleaning tips, for example for facade cleaning, provides information on new products, gives purchase recommendations, and points out discount campaigns. In addition, an integrated shop lets you buy common Kärcher devices and suitable accessories directly. That may not be crucial for everyone, but it shows that the app wants to be more than just a simple remote control.

Die Kärcher Home and Garden App im Zusammenspiel mit dem Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium
The app provides tips, product information, and connection to the K7

It is also practical that in the help section you can directly access the repair service. Anyone who has a problem with the device or is looking for support saves themselves the detour via the website. Especially with a high-priced device like the K7 Comfort Premium, that is more than just a nice extra.

Now to the "Connected" feature: the Kärcher K7 can be connected to the app via Bluetooth. In the past, you would still find the term "Smart Control," which has probably now been dropped to make it clearer that the device cannot be integrated into a smart home via WiFi. For the Bluetooth connection, the device first has to be connected to power . The pairing itself was uncomplicated in the test.

What functions does the app offer in combination with the K7?

In everyday use, the real question is which functions are actually tied to the app and what can be done directly on the gun. The app is primarily intended as a consultation and support tool, not as a necessary control center. The connection provides the following added value:

  • Application advice: The app helps choose suitable settings for different surfaces and areas of use, which are then transferred directly to the device. This saves online research, even if that has become very easy in times of AI.

  • Step-by-step instructions: For tasks such as patio, facade, car, or garden furniture, there are practical tips on the correct approach and recommended products that can be bought directly in the shop.

  • Statistics and device information: Product data (e.g. water temperature), care instructions, and service access can be retrieved centrally.

  • Remote control: This allows the gun to be controlled via smartphone. In my view, the added value here is rather low.

For the actual operation in use, however, you do not need the app permanently. The basic settings and use of the device can also be handled without a smartphone. The control unit or the controls on the device are perfectly sufficient for normal operation. Anyone who already knows which spray and which accessories they want to use can also operate the K7 in the classic way. The app is therefore clearly a nice addition whose importance, in my experience, decreases with continued use.

Which functions require the app and when is the control unit enough?

Brief conclusion: Does the app add value?

Yes, the app definitely adds value – but more in the form of guidance, tips, and service than through a completely new way of operating the device. In my view, it is especially useful for users who do not work with a pressure washer every day and want a bit of support with different surfaces. On the other hand, anyone who already has experience will be able to use the K7 Comfort Premium easily and effectively even without the app. All in all, the app is not a must, but a pleasantly useful addition that feels reassuringly mature compared with many other manufacturer solutions.

Water and power consumption

The test shows that water consumption depends heavily on the selected setting. Depending on what pressure and which attachment are used, consumption varies noticeably in everyday use. According to the data sheet, the Kärcher consumes up to 600 liters per hour at maximum. That is not unusual for a device in this performance class, but it clearly shows that anyone working for long periods at the highest setting is dealing with quite relevant amounts of water.

What is important here is that you also need sufficient water pressure in the line for the highest setting. In the test on different connections, it became apparent that the flow at the highest setting can stutter if the water pressure is insufficient. In that case, the device switches on and off intermittently instead of running consistently. In addition to hose problems (kinks, leaks, too long, too small a cross-section, air in the system), this can become an issue especially with older household connections or weaker outdoor taps. So if you notice that the washer does not run properly at full power, you should not immediately assume a defect, but first check the water supply.

At a maximum of 3000 watts, the device also draws quite a bit of electricity at a high setting. That is not surprising for a powerful pressure washer either. So the K7 is not an economical little device for short mini tasks, but one with significant energy requirements.

However, consumption should always be viewed in relation to the working time. Precisely because the Kärcher K7 Comfort cleans large areas comparatively quickly, its high power demand is partly put into perspective again. If a dirty patio becomes clean in a relatively short time, this is often more efficient in practice than working much longer with a weaker device. From my experience, the deciding factor is therefore less the pure peak value and more the question of how quickly the device gets the job done.

Area

Value

Practical significance

Maximum water consumption

Depends on setting and type of use, correspondingly high at maximum power

Maximum power consumption

3000 W

High energy demand at full power, typical for the upper class

Water requirement at highest setting

high

Practical conclusion

performance-oriented

Not a miracle of efficiency, but fast and effective for demanding tasks

Important in practice: The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium only unfolds its full strength when both water pressure and power supply are up to the task. If you give it good conditions, you get a lot of performance – but you should not expect low consumption figures.

Noise level

In the test, the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium measured around 83 dB at the medium setting with the flat jet. That is already a clearly audible level and can roughly be compared to heavy road traffic. For the user, it does not feel extremely unpleasant, but clearly like a working machine rather than a quiet garden helper.

Messung der Lautstärke des Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium im Test
Depending on the setting and attachment, the K7’s noise level increases noticeably

At the high setting with the dirt blaster, the test even reached up to 90 dB, especially when working close to the ground. For classification: that roughly corresponds to a passing truck in the immediate vicinity or a very powerful vacuum cleaner right next to your ear. In practice, it becomes clear that not only the device itself but above all the hard, rotating pressure jet is responsible for the largest part of the noise.

The device itself, more precisely the pump in the motor, hums along rather steadily. Compared to the escaping water jet, this source of noise is actually more moderate. So especially with the dirt blaster, it is less the machine hum that dominates and more the very energetic impact of the water jet on the surface.

Compared to other powerful pressure washers, the K7 falls within the normal range. The noise level matches the cleaning performance it offers.

For use in residential areas, that means: the K7 can generally be used without problem, but of course it should not be used during sensitive times of day or for unnecessarily long sessions. Especially when working with the dirt blaster on hard surfaces, the neighbors will definitely hear it too. For occasional patio or facade cleaning, I consider this uncritical as long as you stick to the usual quiet hours. If you have sensitive neighbors or closely built-up surroundings, you should be a bit considerate and choose the right time.

Operating mode

Measured noise level

Classification

Medium setting with flat jet

approx. 83 dB

Comparable to heavy road traffic or a truck at some distance

High setting with dirt blaster

up to 90 dB

Comparable to a loud workshop environment or a truck in the immediate vicinity

Motor/pump

moderate

The actual hum is audible, but usually quieter than the water jet

My impression: the noise level of the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium is absolutely typical for this performance class. If you use maximum cleaning power, you also get a correspondingly present noise level. For occasional jobs around the house and garden, that is perfectly acceptable – but hearing protection can certainly make sense for longer tasks.

Value for money

When choosing, you should pay particular attention to which set suits your plans for the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium. Various sets are available:

The standard set is called Kärcher K 7 Comfort Premium (item no.: 1.317-500.0). It comes with the simple high-pressure gun – G 180 Q COMFORT!Hold without display and Connect function.

  • Set with app control Kärcher K 7 Comfort Premium Connect [asin="B0GBYM9JCR",type="standard"]

  • Set with Home equipment: Kärcher K 7 Comfort Premium Home (item no.: 1.317-503.0) [asin="B0GBZX5FL6",type="standard"]

  • Kärcher K 7 Comfort Premium Home + Car Set (item no.: 1.317-507.0) [asin="B0GBZ8L9G1",type="standard"]

  • Kärcher K 7 Comfort Premium Facade Set (item no.: 1.317-540.0)[asin="B0GSZ9WGBP",type="standard"]

The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home we tested costs around 494 euros including shipping according to price comparison sites. The Home + Car Set comes in at around 505 euros, while the Facade Set without Home and Car costs 599.99 euros. In my view, the best value for money is currently offered by the Home + Car Set, because the extra cost compared to the Home set is small, while the additional everyday benefit is clearly there.

If you don’t want to go without anything, you should also take a look at the complete set. Among other things, it includes the gutter attachment:

BILDBESCHREIBUNG

The running costs mainly include water, electricity, and, if needed, cleaning agents. Especially with frequent use and larger areas, the device does make itself noticeable. Anyone who also buys brushes, special cleaners, or further accessories increases the overall costs accordingly.

An interesting comparison here is with the smaller K5. The Kärcher K5 Comfort Premium Home is around 100 euros cheaper and is therefore the obvious alternative for many buyers. But what exactly do you have to do without?

Difference compared to the K5 Comfort Premium

Compared to the K7 Comfort Premium, the K5 Comfort Premium mainly requires compromises in terms of performance. The K7 works more powerfully and is therefore better suited for heavily soiled surfaces, e.g. old stone floors or stubborn deposits. For versatile use across different areas of application, the K7 therefore feels more thorough. Anyone who chooses the K5 primarily gives up some pressure (145 bar vs. 180 on the K7), water flow rate (500 l/h vs. 600 l/h), surface performance (40 m²/h vs. 60 m²/h), a higher inlet temperature (40°C vs. 60°C), and with that also a bit of the top-class feel in use. In return, the K5 is over 5 kg lighter. For normal cleaning jobs around the house, the K5 is usually perfectly sufficient. In my view, the extra expense for the K7 is worthwhile when larger areas, heavier dirt, or several areas of use regularly come together. If you only clean occasionally, the K5 is generally the more economical choice.

Brief conclusion: The K7 Comfort Premium is expensive, but in return it offers a lot of performance and a strong accessory system. Anyone who uses the device regularly and in versatile ways gets coherent value for money. For occasional standard tasks, the K5 is the more sensible alternative.

Our final verdict

The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium proved in the test to be a strong, well thought out, and very capable pressure washer. I was particularly impressed by the high cleaning performance on patios, washed concrete, facades, and heavy green deposits. The new, tidier design, the good storage for accessories, and the tool-free setup also convey a noticeable improvement over the predecessor in everyday use. In my view, the integration of the app is also successful, even though it is not a must.

I see room for optimization in the following areas: at just under 19 kg, the K7 is no lightweight, winding up the hose requires a bit of practice, and when washing the car you quickly hit limits without additional accessories. Added to that are noticeable water and power consumption as well as a fairly high purchase price overall. Nevertheless, the overall package works if you use the device regularly and in a versatile way. The K7 Comfort Premium is especially worthwhile for users with larger areas, frequent cleaning tasks, and higher demands on performance and comfort. On the other hand, if you only clean around the house occasionally, have little area to cover, and want to shop more price-consciously, the K5 Comfort will be sufficient in many cases.

FAQs

  • help

Which areas of use is the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home particularly well suited for?

The Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home is especially suitable for patios, paths, facades, roller shutters, garden walls, balcony furniture, and other heavily soiled surfaces around the house. In the test, it was particularly convincing on washed concrete, paving, and green deposits. It also works well for regular vehicle care, whether car, motorcycle, or motorhome, though with the right brushes it performs quite a bit better.

What is included in the Home Set of the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium?

In addition to the pressure washer itself, the Home Set generally includes the G 180 Q Comfort Connect high-pressure gun, the 4-in-1 multi spray lance, an extension lance, the 10-meter high-pressure hose, cleaning agent, and the T7 surface cleaner. Depending on the retailer, the exact scope of delivery may vary slightly, so it is worth taking a quick look at the product description.

Do you absolutely need the Kärcher app to use the K7 Comfort Premium Connect?

No, the app is not absolutely required. The Kärcher K7 can also be used perfectly normally without the app. However, the Kärcher Home & Garden app offers additional cleaning tips, instructions, service functions, and support in choosing suitable settings. In my view, it is a useful addition, but not a must.

Can I also wash my car with the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home?

Yes, that is possible without any problem. Light to medium dirt can be removed well. With more strongly adhering dirt, such as insect residue or stubborn deposits, additional cleaning agent and a little soaking time help. For frequent vehicle washing, the Car Kit with suitable brushes is the better addition. On the other hand, using the dirt blaster on car paint is clearly not recommended.

  • help

How loud is the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home during operation?

In the test, the noise level at the medium setting with the flat jet was about 83 dB, while with the dirt blaster at the high setting, up to 90 dB was possible. This places the K7 in the usual range for powerful pressure washers. In residential areas, it should therefore preferably be used outside quiet hours and only for as long as necessary.

  • help

How much water does the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home consume?

The water consumption depends on the selected setting and the attachment. Up to 600 liters per hour are possible at maximum. It is also crucial that the water line provides enough pressure so the device can work consistently at the highest setting. If the line pressure is too low, the hose is unsuitable, or there is air in the system, the flow can stutter.

Who is the Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium Home worthwhile for, and when is the K5 enough?

The K7 Comfort Premium Home is especially worthwhile for users with larger areas, frequent use, and more demanding cleaning tasks. Anyone who regularly cleans the patio, facade, paths, and other areas benefits from the higher performance. The K5, on the other hand, is often the better choice for anyone who only cleans occasionally, has less area, and wants to be a bit more price-conscious.

K7 model comparison

Since the predecessor is still being sold in stores, I would like to briefly list at the end the improvements of the new Comfort series, which is gradually replacing the old K7 models.

What are the differences between the new Kärcher K7 Comfort Premium and the previous K7 Premium version?

BILDBESCHREIBUNG
The K7 Comfort Premium has clearly evolved significantly in appearance alone

The new Kärcher Comfort series replaces the previous Power Control and Smart Control Flex series. With the K7, pure performance remains largely the same: the new K7 Comfort also reaches max. 180 bar, 600 l/h, and 60 m²/h surface performance. So the progress lies less in more power and above all in handling, accessory concept, and ease of use.

New features include the tool-free setup, a longer lockable telescopic handle, better separation of the water/power connection and high-pressure hose (Easy!Motion device concept), and tidier accessory storage on the front of the device. The PremiumFlex hose with integrated hose reel remains, but is integrated more consistently into the new device concept; the previous rear mesh compartment of the K7 Smart Control Flex is omitted.

The accessories have also been changed: instead of the previous 3-in-1 Multi Jet spray lance, there is now a 4-in-1 Multi Jet with dirt blaster, high-pressure flat jet, wide pressure-reduced flat jet, and detergent spray. The Connect versions also receive the new G 180 Q Comfort Connect gun with LCD display, Quick Connect, Bluetooth/app control, eco!Mode, three pressure levels, two detergent levels, and a 180° rotating gun shaft.

The 2-in-1 detergent concept is also new: the bottle sits on the side of the device and can either be drawn in directly or used as a foam nozzle with dosing function on the gun. The series is complemented by app assistance, five years of warranty after registration, and depending on the model, 20–30% recycled material in the device.

Overall, the Comfort series is not a radically new K7, but a clearly modernized, more ergonomic, and better organized development of the previous premium models. In terms of cleaning performance, the differences are rather small.
